In this entry, I want to show you some paintings and sketches made yesterday in El Rocío marshes (Doñana National Park), one of the spots that we will be visiting in the course of the open-air painting trip I will be leading in a few weeks.
The water is receding from the shores of the marhs, while the muds are becoming clear. The water is concentrated in a few ponds and it darkens in the afternoon, under a sky sprinkled with clouds and clears, suggesting all the possible overtones and shadows. Today, I decide to concentrate in the flamingos, which lend their colour to this windy afternoon in the marshes accompanied by coots, black-winged stilts, avocets and a small flock of curlew sandpipers.
